Privacy Policy

This page explains what The Quiet Operator (thequietoperatorlab.com) collects, why, and who else handles it. The site is run by The Quiet Operator. Questions go to quietoperator.lab@gmail.com.
What we collect
Your email address, if you give it to us. There are two forms on the site:
- Newsletter signup. We collect your email address.
- Assessment results. If you ask for your results by email, we collect your email address along with your assessment score and the tier it falls in.
Both forms are handled by Netlify Forms. Submissions are stored in our Netlify account, which only we can access. We use them to send you what you asked for and occasional updates. We do not sell or rent your email address.
Text you paste into the tools
The rewriter and the writing diagnosis send the text you submit to Anthropic, the company that provides the AI model, so it can be processed and a result returned to you. The site itself does not store that text on our servers or in a database. It is passed through, and the result comes straight back to your browser.
Anthropic handles that text under its own policies. See Anthropic's privacy policy. Please do not paste confidential or sensitive information you are not comfortable sharing with a third-party service.
What stays in your browser
To enforce the free daily limits and show your recent rewrites, the site saves a small amount of data in your browser's local storage, including your last few rewrites. This stays on your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Purchases
Products are sold through Gumroad. When you buy, Gumroad collects your payment and contact details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details Gumroad shares with sellers, such as your name and email address.
Mirror, our decision journal app, is a subscription billed through Stripe. Stripe processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. Mirror has its own account and terms.
Other services
The site is hosted on Netlify, which may log basic technical information such as IP addresses to run and protect the service. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when the page loads.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. To see, correct or delete the email address and assessment data we hold about you, write to quietoperator.lab@gmail.com and we will take care of it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
